Pogo, top left, and Lass in the top center, were rescues I obtained through the Great Pyrenee Rescue folks. Pogo is a half Anatolian Shepherd and half Great Pyrenee. Sara, at top far right; is working well (now eight years old!!), and now the "BOSS". I lost Lass at the advanced age of 13 1/2 in June of 2002 - a sad event, but very succcessful rescue story, as I had her six years. I also have another rescued 1/2 ASD 1/2 Pyr Sylvie, aged 4. Additionally the summer of 2009 I rescued/adopted a 13 year old guardian PYR who had lost her stamina for guarding 350 acres - but does great on my 18!!
In addition to the "Big White Dogs" I acquired, through purchase, a
very rare Central Asian Shepherd through a breeder in New York. Willow
is here as a guardian dog and spends her days in the field, but comes in
with me at night. Willow is extremely adaptable, and
needs to be only told things once to remember (but she may see if you remember
what you said!!) Her heritage is such that, as used by nomads, her
job is to guard EVERYTHING! And to help herself to extra goat milk
if the calves don't push her off!! For more information on this breed,

Always get asked what I do with the extra goat milk when all the
babies are weanned-I raise
a couple of bottle calves, or a pig, and sell a small amount of
milk
